You’ve probably seen it on social media, rooftop restaurants with views of the Golden Horn, the Bosporus, and beyond. So did I, and thought it looked like a cool place to take a break from strolling the city streets. Luckily I didn’t find the one I was actually looking for, because I wasn’t sure I was gonna be able to handle the sweet smell of shisha. Instead I spotted the somewhat out of place Veralux Lounge sign. Thinking I might be onto something, the doorman confirmed, guided me through the staff entrance of another restaurant, sent me up an elevator, where, upon exiting, I was met by another host, who took me up to the rooftop terrace. This was just what I wanted! Nice place, splendid views. My creamy chicken dish was mediocre, too salty for my taste, so I’d suggest sticking to drinks.
While up there, looking around, I could see several similar restaurants, so I think you can just walk up Ord. Prof. Dr. Cemil Birsel Cd (Ordinaryüs Profesör Doktor Cemil Birsel Caddesi), from the waterfront, and you’ll find a place. Probably on the the side streets as well.
