A Central Budget Hotel in Pamukkale

central budget hotel pamukkale

As I was arriving in Pamukkale, Turkey, on the shuttle bus from Denizli, accommodation close to the bus stop wasn’t unwelcome. The village isn’t big, so could be all hotels are in a fair walking distance. Nevertheless, I was happy with the location of Kervansaray Pension. Less than a minute walk from the main square, where we got dropped off the bus. Also close to most things, like the few shops and restaurants in town, and the lower entrance of the cotton castle. To my delight, there’s a tiny bakery a couple of doors down, serving simit, and bread, right out of the oven, literally. The hotel is a family-run business. Basic, with a somewhat homey feeling to it. Breakfast room on the roof terrace. Swimming pool with a very small lounge area. My room had a balcony with a Pamukkale hill view, and rooms are accessed from open-air walkways. Prices are in euros, but I was given a fair exchange rate converting to Turkish lire. Cash only!

They advertise private airport transportation at 48 euros. Expensive for just one person. Luckily, I found a lot cheaper alternative, a shared shuttle, from Metro tour company, office at the main square.
