Gangnam in Oslo, Norway

gangnam korean restaurant oslo norway

Looking at me I guess it’s not obvious I’m quite new to Korean cuisine. I had my first bibimbap experience years ago – an absolute success!, so figured the next step was long overdue. Gangnam in Oslo, Norway came highly recommended by former colleagues. It is located on the outskirts of Aker Brygge, kind of. You probably want to ask for directions as it sits in a pretty anonymous looking building. The inside not the most exciting interior wise, so the food is the incentive for visiting. And you won’t be disappointed. My Korean fried chicken in spicy sauce was delish! Accompanied by kimchi, of course, and two other types of fermented veggies – can’t remember what they were, but tasty as well. Rice served in lidded steel boxes – cool! To drink, Oran-C, a pineapple carbonated soft drink – yummy! My friend’s bulgogi looked appetising as well. Even though the menu isn’t extensive, it still feels like enough. Lots I’d like to try, so I am coming back, for sure!

Visited another Oslo restaurant serving Korean food, NAM KANG, once upon a time, and I was not impressed with my bibimbap – both look and taste were bland.
