A Taste of Japan x 2

kyoto japanese bakery cafe sliema malta

Yep, I just had to visit twice 🙂 The Japanese bakery and cafe in Sliema, Malta, can easily be missed, as it is tiny, and just off a busy intersection. But you don’t want to! So happy the striking pink and turquoise “box” caught my eye. Kyoto is small, so not room for many, but cozy, and with a whole lot on offer. Would have liked to try it all, but it comes down to not having room, or having to visit several days in a row, which would have made me appear a little nuts 😀 I did get to dig in a little. I had to have the animal faced sweet buns filled with custard. Also had to try melonpan, another type of sweet bun, but with a thin, crispy, sugar like coating – different colors, different flavours. Can be cut open, and filled with custard. For drinks I went with matcha latte with kuzu mochi, and matcha green tea. I had a ball!!

PS! Credit card terminals do not always work on the islands. Something with the connection. In other words, always have cash. I was barely able to pay for my dinner in Valletta.
