Knokke was the destination for a day trip from Brussels. Like for so many of the city folks. Knokke has become a seaside resort with apartment buildings, shops and restaurants, catering to an upscale clientele, it felt like. It was very quiet the day we visited, almost like it was out of season. We sat down for a moules-frites dinner at one of the eateries lining the beach promenade, and also had to dip our toes in the sea – testing the water – not too warm, and very choppy. It was really nice to get out to the coast, and with not many around, it was just a perfectly chill day.
