High-Flying Pizza

italian pizza restaurant oslo norway

I have been to this Italian pizza restaurant in Oslo once before, and I couldn’t wait to go back. So much that I was “pestering” my friend to join me for another visit 🙂 This place does take a little bit of effort to get to. Getting off at the last bus stop, there is a 2 km walk uphill… Pays to have a friend with a car 😀 But, knowing the reward at the top, I very much hope you decide to give it a go. Grefsenkollen restaurant actually serves up three different options. The main building, where you’ll find more of a fine dining experience with exquisite surroundings to accompany it. Have not tried this one, just had a look at the interior design – thumbs up! Another option is OverOslo Bar. Have not done this one either. And then there is what I have done and love, Terrassen (the terrace), where they serve pizza only. I love the setup, you can sit inside this shelter like structure, or outside under the blue sky. I love the view of Oslo. Last, but not least, I love the pizzas. This time we went for spicy moose salami pizza, and chicken with white/Crème fraîche sauce pizza. Squisito! And if you’re in town in the end of June (like last week), you’ll have the chance to attend the music festival OverOslo, which they put on here, with great amphitheatre seating.

  1. I’d walk those 2km uphill for pizza any day! Better on the way to the restaurant than on the way from it. This way you cal roll downhill if you’ve eaten a bit too much 😉

    1. It’s a really nice place, and if I was a visitor I’d put in the effort. Since I live there, I’ll wait for a ride 😀

Love to hear your comment :)
