VIDEO: A Nomadic Art Project

cool bar restaurant oslo norway

This is SALT. A nomadic art project, they call themselves. And I guess it is a good tagline, as Oslo is their third stop, after Sandhornøya in Northern Norway, and Bergen in the west. If you’re looking for something off, both the beaten track, and in general, this should be on your list! I had seen the Arctic pyramid in a photo, and passed it once, before I the second time decided to check it out. Didn’t try out their food offerings, but sat down for drinks, and to just have a look at the place. SALT is a mix of things. In addition to food and drinks, and gelato, you can go for a sauna, smoke a water pipe, attend concerts now and again, maybe you have been invited to an event held at this venue, or just like to enjoy the unusual art installations, like the aforementioned pyramid or the “post-it” tree, where you can write a message and hang it up. All this at the waterfront with a fjord and opera house view, in the company of…not so many people, at least this evening. I’ve seen it a lot more crowded, so you won’t be all by yourself 🙂

As I said this place is kind of off the main grid. The easiest way to get there is follow the shoreline from the opera house, and…never give up, even though it might look like there’s nothing more up there. I guess I’d suggest, ask for directions 🙂

    1. Love it! It is nomadic because it is an art installation that is moved around the country 🙂

Love to hear your comment :)
