Fairview Greathouse

My second stop on St. Kitts of St. Kitts and Nevis, was Fairview Great House, and its botanical gardens. An 18th century French plantation house located just outside Basseterre. I got a guide to show me around, and learned about the history of the estate. An attractive looking house, with a nice, airy restaurant, out on the porch, kind of, but in total nothing out of the ordinary. I should have sat down for a drink, enjoying the breeze floating though, but being on a cruise limits the time on shore. I read they offer cooking classes now, which I definitely would have considered, had it been an option back then.

When I disembarked the cruise ship, there were plenty of taxis waiting to take me out and about. Talked to the staff members at the dock, and they helped arrange the trip and assigned a driver. A tad more expensive than what I had read somewhere, but it seemed to be a (fairly) fixed fare.

St. Kitts was a port on my cruise with Celebrity Cruises.
