If street art is your drug, then Stavanger might be the place for you. With, at one point, 150+ works of art scattered across town, you’ve reached the Promised Land. I wasn’t even hunting for it, and I came across a lot. There are pieces I now know I’ve stood next to, but did not spot, so it pays to be on the alert. The reason for the large numbers of murals is the Nuart festival, a street art festival that has been held yearly since 2001. If you’re not in the mood for putting in the hard work of sifting through the extensive collection to find the best ones, joining a Nuart tour might be the way to go.
