Pasta @ Mamma Pizza

mamma pizza top italian restaurant oslo

This Italian restaurant in Oslo, Norway, came highly recommended by a colleague of mine. And he was not wrong! My cousin, who joined me for dinner, lived in Italy once, and didn’t have any complaints either. Not in the mood for pizza, I went for seafood tagliatelle – langoustine, scampi, mussels, and cream sauce. Fittingly, as they have called this Vika branch an osteria di mare, which also shows in the nautical themed interior. Their other three restaurants, in Oslo, and Lillestrøm, seem to have different expressions.

Once again, this is not a place you’ll randomly bump into, but a 10 minute walk only from the main street, Karl Johns gate.

Update: Just visited their restaurant in Nydalen, Oslo. Wanted to try their pizza. Wasn’t too impressed. It’s ok, but Crudo, across the river, has better. The size might be on the smaller side, for some – still, all my colleagues appeared to be fine. It has the biggest crust I have ever gotten! It kind of makes the rest seem tiny.

Here are other restaurants in Oslo. Happy eating 🙂
