Stone Town Boutique Hotel

small boutique hotel stone town zanzibar tanzania

Zenji Hotel in Zanzibar, I found on Tripadvisor. I usually don’t go there to search for them. I go there to validate my findings 😀 Not only was this a small, intimate, 9 room only, accommodation, but it was also the first time I heard about Muhammad and the spider, when one of staffers had to come rescue me from an unwanted, 8 legged intruder. I warned him that if the spider came my way, as he was guiding it out the room door, I would end its life. A lie, as I’m too much of a chicken 😀 I learned that one shouldn’t kill a spider, as a spider saved Muhammad’s life once. Besides a quick lesson in religion, I had eggs cooked to my liking every morning at the rooftop breakfast room, welcoming staff helping with every need, a Zanzibari styled room, an onsite cafe/shop selling local goods, with a porch for relaxing and watching street life pass by. Additional favourable feature, its location. In Malindi. Away from the more touristic area, which definitely added to the experience.
